Plumose Anemone

(Metridium senile)

The plumose anemone can be identified from other anemones by the long column body topped by a plumage of tentacles on the top. As they anemone moves along rock they leave behind small pieces of tissue. This can then grow into a whole new anemone!

up to 30cm tall (some members of the same family can grow up to 1m tall)

10 yrs+ (although thought to live a lot longer - just data deficient) Some members of the family living centuries
